About the solution

Impact Goal: Mobilise capital to expand access to quality education for low- and middle-income families Description: Global Schools Forum (GSF), in collaboration with Kaizenvest, IDP Foundation, and Varthana, proposes the establishment of a Global Finance for Education Fund aimed at providing impact-linked financing for education across selected geographies including India, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Uganda, and parts of South America. The fund aims to mobilise approximately USD 35 million of private investment and philanthropic funding over a 3–5-year period, focusing on enhancing access to both debt finance and a range of impact-linked finance instruments for financial institutions and intermediaries. This would enable on-lending to education providers such as Early Childhood Development (ECD), low-cost private schools (LCPS), and skill development centres servicing children from low- and middle-income families.

The proposed Global Finance for Education Fund aims to tackle these challenges by providing catalytic and investment capital to financial institutions and intermediaries, enabling them to offer tailored financial products to education providers.
