2024 Annual Report

The SDG Impact Finance Initiative (SIFI) is pleased to announce the publication of its 2024 Annual Report.

In 2024, SIFI continued to demonstrate the transformative potential of blended finance—leveraging public and philanthropic contributions to unlock private capital for high-impact solutions. With a mobilization ratio of up to 1:7, SIFI is helping catalyze commercial investment toward underserved regions and sectors where financing is most needed.

Over the past year, SIFI scaled its platform to support 25 active solutions across its three strategic windows:

  • Innovation Window: Over USD 3.1 million in grant funding was committed to 19 early-stage initiatives across two calls for proposals.
  • Investment Window: SIFI deployed more than USD 10 million in catalytic capital to six scalable impact funds operating in climate, education, and financial inclusion. Notably, SIFI served as the anchor investor in the first close of the Mirova Sustainable Land Fund 2.
  • Ecosystem Window: In 2024, SIFI advanced sector-wide priorities by engaging organizations in 30+ countries, co-hosting four global events, and launching a joint study with Columbia University on risk perception and liquidity in emerging markets.

In parallel, SIFI launched a new website and initiated the development of a web-based Impact Measurement and Monitoring Tool to enhance transparency and donor visibility.

As SIFI continues to grow its platform, strengthen partnerships, and support the development of the impact investing ecosystem, it remains focused on its mission: to mobilize USD 1 billion in private capital for the SDGs in developing countries by 2030.
