The SDG Impact Finance Initiative (SIFI) is thrilled to announce the winners of our second call for proposals under the Product Window, focused on “Building Resilient Societies and Developing Human Capital.” An overall investment of CHF 5 million in the form of first-loss equity will be distributed among two exceptional funds, contingent upon the successful completion of the negotiation and agreement of the business terms and legal documentation. These initiatives were selected for their outstanding potential to enhance resilience and support human capital development in ODA-eligible countries.

Introducing Our Investees:

  • Next Billion Capital Partners: This fund focuses on advancing digital and financial inclusion through high-growth tech investments in emerging markets. Next Billion aims to reach underserved populations, including women and MSMEs, through investments in sectors such as Fintech, Digital Commerce, and Digital Health. With a CHF 2 million investment from SIFI, Next Billion will be positioned to drive scalable impact, primarily in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.

  • VAI Capital: VAI Capital’s Mobility Credit Fund is Africa’s first dedicated e-mobility fund, focusing on clean transportation solutions to improve air quality, reduce carbon emissions and enhance road safety. With SIFI’s CHF 1.5 million investment, VAI will expand its pioneering efforts to improve access to cleaner transportation by investing in businesses across the Africa electric mobility value chain through tailored and structured debt instruments.

These projects exemplify the power of impact investing to drive sustainable development and resilience in underserved communities. Their approaches -ranging from digital inclusion to climate-resilient healthcare solutions and clean mobility -highlight the breadth of potential to develop human capital and enhance community resilience.

The SDG Impact Finance Initiative congratulates these winners and eagerly anticipates their continued impact on creating inclusive, sustainable futures in ODA-eligible countries.
