The SDG Impact Finance Initiative is pleased to announce its inaugural call for proposals under the newly launched Product Window, which will support impact fund managers seeking to scale up their innovative impact ideas and build on proven investment fund concepts.

Through the Product Window, the Initiative aims to fuel growth and scale by providing funding in the form of first-loss equity to impact funds that contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and show potential to catalyze capital from the private sector. This call for proposals will focus specifically on the following SDGs and climate change focus areas:

  • SDG 2 (hunger): Climate-Smart Agriculture
  • SDG 7 (energy): Cleantech, Renewable Energy
  • SDG 11 (cities): Sustainable Urban Planning
  • SDG 13 (climate): Climate Adaptation/Resilience Planning
  • SDG 14 (life under water): Marine Protected Areas
  • SDG 15 (life on land): Reforestation and Afforestation

The Initiative will award a total of CHF 5 million to up to three awardees.

“Our objective is to de-risk impact investing solutions in order to allow more private capital to come in and contribute to social and environmental objectives at scale.” says Guillaume Bonnel, CEO, SDG Impact Finance Initiative. “The launch of the Product Window follows two successful calls for proposals under the Innovation Window and builds on our commitment to support innovative solutions across various stages of product development.”
