The SDG Impact Finance Initiative (SIFI) has launched its fifth Call for Proposals under the SIFI Innovation Window, focused on Financial Innovation for Climate Adaptation and Resilience Solutions.

The Call seeks innovative financial mechanisms that can deploy and scale solutions addressing climate adaptation and resilience challenges in developing economies. This includes innovations that strengthen climate resilience through data-driven risk analytics, resilient infrastructure and nature-based solutions, financial and risk-transfer instruments, and adaptation-related products, services and technologies.

Through this Call, SIFI will allocate up to CHF 2 million, supporting up to five selected initiatives with grants of up to CHF 500,000 each. Funding is available for both feasibility studies and expansion projects, enabling organisations to validate investor interest, refine financial structures, scale existing mechanisms, or strengthen operational capacity for long-term sustainability.

Eligible proposals must target countries listed as Official Development Assistance (ODA) recipients under the OECD-DAC framework, with a strong focus on low-income and least-developed countries.

The Call is aligned with SIFI’s priority Sustainable Development Goals:

SDG 13 – Climate Action

SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy

SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation

SIFI is particularly interested in financial innovations that accelerate progress in four key areas:

Climate-risk analytics and intelligence

Resilient infrastructure and nature-based solutions (NbS)

Financial and risk-transfer mechanisms

Adaptation products, services and technologies

The submission deadline was 11 December 2025 at 12:00 CET.

Further details, including eligibility criteria, documentation requirements and the application portal, are available in the Call for Proposal section on the SIFI website
